Toxic Fake: Russia Accuses Ukraine of Spreading Radioactive Substances in Syria

Russian special services have once again carried out an information attack against Ukrainians. They are trying to accuse Ukraine of distributing enhanced radioactive substances in Syria.

The SBU reported this.

Toxic Fake – What the Russians Came Up With

It is noted that in Syrian Tsiriyya, information is being disseminated about the sale of alleged military property that was purchased from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

– The “military property” invented by the Russians is a cheaply assembled container containing capsules marked PU.94244U (plutonium) and U.92 (uranium). The contents of the capsules are unknown, – the report says.

The department adds that the container and its contents, as is often the case with Russian propaganda, were hastily made – illegible Cyrillic text was used, blue electrical tape was used to attach the Air Force logo, and gross errors were made in the labeling.

In addition, one of the capsules was marked with the inscription PU 94244U. The SBU emphasized that this is a rare isotope of plutonium, of which there are several grams in the entire earth's crust.

Also, for unknown reasons, a mechanical wristwatch was placed in the container.

– The Russians are also trying to sell a military chemical reconnaissance device (VPKhR) of Soviet design, but “purchased from representatives of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense who were engaged in radiation, chemical and biological protection in Syria,” the department said.

According to the SBU, the trade offer was marked with the inscription in Arabic “03/13/2025, Thursday.”

“This is an attempt by the Kremlin to deal Ukraine a reputational blow in front of the new government of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ukraine’s international partners, and the IAEA.

The aggressor state continues to manipulate the issue of global nuclear security, to which the free world must respond harshly, summarized Andrey Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The service recalled that the Russians had spread similar disinformation in 2023. At that time, a message about an “intercepted Ukrainian container with plutonium” was published in the private blog of user smoug1985.

The Russians reported that they allegedly prevented American intelligence agencies from accusing Russia of using chemical weapons in Syria.

According to the SBU, the Russians prepared confirmation for this provocation back in 2023, reusing old props.
