Fierce fighting continues near Bakhmut on March 3, in particular, Russian troops are trying to capture Bogdanovka and the village of Ivanovskoye in order to advance to Chasov Yar.

The head of the press service of the eastern group of troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ilya Yevlash, spoke about this on air at the national telethon.

The occupiers managed to break into Ivanovskoye, now the defenders are holding defenses right within the village.

— Our military is heroically resisting and trying to push the enemy back from the occupied lines. The enemy is also trying to attack in the village of Bogdanovka, which is north of the village of Chasov Yar, — designated by Evlash.

For this purpose, Russia is transferring airborne units, motorized rifle regiments and army combat reserves to this direction.

Yevlash indicated that the invaders intend to capture Chasov Yar, but thanks to the courage and tenacity of the Defense Forces, their plans fail.

—Near Chasovy Yar, several lines of defense, powerful minefields, as well as dozens of platoon positions have been introduced to accommodate our personnel and squad positions, taking into account the terrain and the necessary requirements so that our army can effectively inflict a fiery defeat on the enemy, and at the same time it was difficult for the enemy to return fire, — explained the military man.

Evlash previously said that the Russian Federation considers this settlement as key for continuing the offensive against Konstantinovka and the Kramatorsk-Slavic agglomeration.
