Venislavsky explained when the Armed Forces of Ukraine will launch a counteroffensive in Donbas/Channel 24
The situation in Donbas remains difficult. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are using tactics that will later allow them to launch a counteroffensive.
This was announced on Channel 24 by Fyodor Venislavsky, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense.
He explained that the tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the defense and protection of Severodonetsk, Lisichanskaya, Lyman and Bakhmut are designed to inflict as much damage as possible on the enemy. In particular, to deplete the personnel of infidels and destroy enemy equipment.
According to the people's deputy, this will soon allow us to launch counterattacks and liberate those temporarily occupied by Russian invaders territory of Ukraine.
However, unfortunately, we cannot yet say that mass counterattacks will be carried out in the near future,” Venislavsky stressed.
As the politician noted, the enemy still has quite a lot of reserves. Now the invaders are pulling up, albeit outdated, but models of weapons that allow the enemy to attack and build a fairly deep line of defense.
Lisichansk has political significance for the enemy,” Fedor Venislavsky added.
Why does Russia need Severodonetsk and Lysichansk
In addition, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense explained why Russia needs Severodonetsk and Lysichansk. He recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin, at the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, declared the main goal.
We are talking about access to the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Now there are 2 settlements that Russian infidels are trying to capture:
- Severodonetsk;
- Lisichansk.
As Venislavsky noted, these settlements are important for the Russian invaders to reach the administrative borders of the Lugansk region.
For them, this is a more important moral and political task than a military, strategic or tactical one , – summed up the people's deputy.

- As of On May 30, active fighting continues in the Donbass, in particular, in the Lugansk region.
- There, the Russian invaders are trying to cordon off the Ukrainian military in the area of Lysichansk and Severodonetsk and block the routes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine use to reinforce.
- The head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Sergei Gaidai, on the morning of May 30, reported that the infidels were moving inside Severodonetsk. The fighting is very fierce and continues already in the city itself.
- In addition, a shot ambulance was found in the city. There were medics in it, but there were none in the car.
