Vladimir Zelensky addressed the Ukrainians on the evening of June 16 and said that a lot of news awaits us in the coming days. The president did not specify what he was talking about.

But let us recall that on Thursday, June 16, European leaders visited Ukraine – Olaf Scholz, Emmanuel Macron, Mario Draghi and Klaus Yohannis.

“Tomorrow – the day after tomorrow there will be a lot of news for Ukraine, I believe it will be positive“, Zelensky said.

The president also stressed that Ukraine has come closest to the European Union since independence.

He also stressed that this is possible primarily thanks to our heroes – each and every one who protects us from Russian troops.

Zelensky added that the Ukrainian army is fighting in the face of significant enemy advantages in technology . “Fighting in such conditions is a daily feat. We are doing everything to give our heroes modern and powerful weapons,” he said.

By the way, soon Ukraine will find out if he will receive the status of an EU candidate. On Friday, June 17, the European Commission will provide a conclusion on the possible status of Ukraine, and next week the decision will be made by the European Council.

Brussels correspondent Rikard Jozwiak suggests that Ukraine and Georgia's bid will remain pending.

Emmanuel Macron, Olaf Scholz and Mario Draghi testified in Kyiv that they support granting Ukraine candidate status for EU membership. Romania has the same position, whose President Klaus Iohannis joined the visit.
