Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny congratulated his Polish colleagues. He recalled that in the Battle of Warsaw, the Poles defended their statehood and saved Europe from the Bolshevik invasion.

Poland's ally in this war was the Ukrainian People's Republic. Today, just like 102 years ago, we are once again standing together against a common centuries-old enemy. I am sincerely grateful to the Polish people for their help and support during this difficult time! – stressed Zaluzhny.

He stressed that Ukraine is now fighting for our freedom and for theirs. And together we will win.

“With friends and partners like Poland, Ukraine will win a victory that will bring peace and tranquility to Europe. May the Polish Army have resilience and professionalism, to protect Poland and its allies from any invaders,” he stressed.

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk also congratulated his Polish friends on the holiday and said that Ukraine understands how important it is to support fraternal peoples in the military sphere.

We understood this in 1920, when the troops of the Ukrainian People's Republic, together with the Polish troops, defended Warsaw from the Bolshevik aggressor. We understand this even now. Poland is not just a friend for us,” he stressed.

Stefanchuk added that Poland is one of the main allies for Ukraine. A reliable partner who today is doing everything possible to protect Ukraine from the invasion of infidels.
