Russia is preparing for new massive shelling of Ukrainian cities. The invaders can attack Ukraine any day.
This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, channel 24reports. According to him, Russia is preparing to continue attacks on the Ukrainian energy system.
Ukraine can pass the New Year holidays without emergency shutdowns
Shmyhal stressed that Ukraine is in readiness for new massive shelling. He added that shelling could happen at any moment.
We understand that Russia is preparing to continue attacks on the Ukrainian energy system. So we are in daily readiness for new massive shelling. This can happen at any time: today, tomorrow or even on New Year's Eve,” the prime minister said.
At the same time, the head of government said that if there were no shelling on New Year's holidays, there would be no emergency shutdowns.
“The enemy seeks not only to disable another substation or power line. He primarily aims to sow fear and panic. But he will not succeed. We believe in ourselves, in our army, in our power engineers, in our partners. We will resist, because that they are the only ones who are strong and motivated to fight for their native land,” Shmygal said.
The number of emergency shutdowns is decreasing in Ukraine
The Prime Minister also said that the number of emergency shutdowns is decreasing in Ukraine. This was facilitated by the work of power engineers, a decrease in consumption on a day off and the absence of frost.
On December 27, after emergency recovery work, 2 blocks of thermal power plants were returned to the network.
