To what extent the infrastructure of the Kharkiv region has been destroyed and how it will be restored: Vereshchuk's explanation

Ukrainian defenders liberated almost the entire territory of Kharkiv region from Russian invaders. The settlements of the region were seriously damaged, many objects need to be restored.

Housing development and local infrastructure have been destroyed by 70%. Irina Vereshchuk, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, said this to Channel 24.

How Kharkiv region will be restored

It is known that the government allocated 400 million hryvnias from the reserve fund for initial measures. We are talking about the restoration of critical infrastructure – gas pipelines, water pipelines, everything that will help restore power.

Soon this money will be used in the Kharkiv region. We understand why and where they will go. Of course, these funds are not enough. Negotiations are already underway with our international partners

Our enemy is cunning, he is counting on the destruction of civilian infrastructure. The goal of the occupiers is to inflict a major humanitarian blow on our state.

They are forced to flee the Kharkiv region, they cannot do anything on the battlefield, they are hitting civilian infrastructure – this is already recognized in all over the world. They commit regular acts of terrorism,” the minister stressed.

Vereshchuk stressed that our international partners will definitely help restore Kharkiv, Kherson and other our territories.

Restoration begins

The fixing process is underway. Of course, not all settlements can be reached. People there really suffer a lot.

“I constantly communicate with people. I know what trouble they are in. I know that the Kharkiv OVA is not finalizing and underperforming objectively,” Vereshchuk said.

That is why they created a coordination headquarters to help people:

  • evacuate if they have lost their homes and have nowhere to spend the winter;
  • restore housing if there is minor damage – windows, doors, roofs.

But not all at once. I understand that there are many complaints. That is why I appeal to our people who hear me. Please, let's get together, volunteers, international partners, everyone who can help – we will help the de-occupied territories, – summed up the Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.

The situation in the de-occupied Kharkiv region: in brief

  • The Ukrainian military expelled the Russian infidels from almost the entire territory of the Kharkiv region. Our soldiers learned the details about the atrocities of the Russians and saw with their own eyes the dungeons in which the Ukrainians were kept. People were frightened, they were surprised when they talked with the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
  • The situation in the reclaimed territory of Kharkiv region is difficult and people need support. The first priority is to start repairing their houses. .
  • Residents of the liberated village of Kochubeevka, Kharkiv region, spoke about the realities of life under the Russian occupation. Yes, for half a year they did not eat bread.
  • The atrocities of the Russians once again stirred up the whole world. Yes, the history of Bucha was repeated in Izyum. Murder, bullying and total terror reigned in the city. Many people are looking for their missing relatives.
  • Our fighters showed terrible footage from the village council of the already liberated village of Bolshiye Prokhody. The infidels turned it into a prison for prisoners.
