Defense Express journalists said that the Russians transported a new launch vehicle to temporarily occupied Kerch. We are talking about the new corvette of Project 22800 “Karakurt”.

This Russian ship is a carrier of Caliber-type missiles. The new “Karakurt” was transported to Kerch to replace the damaged ship “Askold”.

“Karakurt” arrived in Kerch to replace the “Askold” “

Defense Express studied the infographics created by OSINT analyst MT_Anderson based on satellite imagery. It showed the current state of the Project 22800 Karakurt missile corvettes, equipped with Caliber cruise missiles. Askold” is currently undergoing repairs at the Zaliv plant in temporarily occupied Kerch. The damaged parts of the ship's hull were covered from above by the Russians.

Of particular interest is the photo taken on December 5, 2023 in Novorossiysk . The photo shows two “Karakurts”, including a completed and tested ship called “Amur”, as well as, presumably, the ship “Tucha”.

Unlike the three previous Karakurts, built at the Kerch Zalov plant, the Tucha corvette was built at a shipyard in Zelenodolsk, located in Tatarstan, on the banks of the Volga. So, there is an assumption that the Russians transported the new ship “Caliber”, which may have replaced the destroyed “Askold”, to Novorossiysk via the Volga-Don Canal.
