Midfielder of the Ukrainian national team and Spanish Girona Viktor Tsygankov shared his expectations from the decisive match of the blue-yellows in the qualification for Euro 2024 against the Italian team.
In an interview with the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, he said that the team clearly understands that “to qualify for Euro 2024 they must accomplish a feat.”
— This is the last match of the group stage. We clearly understand that to enter the Euro we must accomplish a feat. We will do everything to make this happen. For us and for our country. In the times we live in, participation in the European Championship will be very important. This is a great tournament and we want to play in it. Our people have been suffering for months, we want to give Ukrainians some happy moments,” Tsygankov said.
According to the Ukrainian midfielder, in the previous head-to-head match between the national teams at San Siro in Milan, the blue-yellows encountered difficulties. However, the football player said that this was a lesson for them.

“Now we have our last chance, and we want to win, we want to qualify for the European Championship,” the footballer noted.
Tsygankov believes that the Italian team is under more pressure, because they represent a country that usually plays in such major tournaments and is also the current European champion.
“But we know very well how important this qualification is for our nation and our people. We want to make Ukrainians happy, so that they are proud of us,” added Victor.
The Ukraine-Italy match will take place on Monday, November 20 in Leverkusen, Germany, at the BayArena stadium. A direct ticket to the Euro 2024 finals will be at stake in the meeting.
