To help Ukraine, the EU must go on a war footing – President of the European Council

by alex

President of the European Council Charles Michel said that in order to provide Ukraine with full military assistance, the EU must switch to a war economy regime.

He is confident that the entire European community is now facing a global problem — for the first time since World War II.

The words of the politician are reported by La Libre Belgique.

—If we don't respond properly at the EU level and provide Ukraine with enough help to stop Russia, we will be next, — Michel pointed out.

As an example, he recalled Crimea — Russia did not stop at capturing the peninsula, although the interval between this capture and a full-scale war was eight years. The Russian Federation will not stop in Ukraine either.

— Moscow continues its destabilization tactics – in Moldova, Georgia, the South Caucasus, the Western Balkans and even further on the African continent, — concluded the politician.

Help to Ukraine

Charles Michel is convinced that Europe must supply the Ukrainian military with everything that is urgently needed on the battlefield. Now these are shells, missiles and air defense systems.

—We should use the European budget to buy military equipment for Ukraine – let's use the windfall from seized Russian assets to buy weapons for Ukraine, — he summarized.
