According to Major General Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Marchenko, there is no need to fear a new enemy attack on Nikolaev yet. It was he who led the defense of the Nikolaev direction, so he perfectly understands that the Russians will not take such a step now.
To take Nikolaev, they need to remove all their troops from all directions, just create some kind of large reserve and try to break through with this large reserve. But I'll tell you, even if they do this, it will be hard for them, it's not just one day of fighting… It's practically a utopia, Marchenko said.
He also added that this situation is well understood by the other side. They did not manage to break through to Nikolaev in the early days, when they had quantitative advantages and an element of surprise on their side.
