The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture stated that he is against the closure of the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum in Kyiv. We are talking about a museum in the very center of the capital, on Andreevsky Spusk.
Alexander Tkachenko announced the corresponding statement at the media center on September 2.
Tkachenko against the closure of the Bulgakov Museum
I am surprised to read the statement of the writers' union. What prevented them from the Bulgakov Museum in Kyiv, I do not know. Bulgakov is from Kiev,” the Ukrainian minister said.
However, he acknowledged that Mikhail Bulgakov’s works of art contained replicas of heroes regarding the liberation struggle at the beginning of the 20th century.
“But I think that the museum is not guilty. It is definitely not worth touching,” the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine believes.
What preceded this
- At the end of August, the National The Writers' Union of Ukraine announced that it wants to “evict” the Russian Bulgakov from his museum on Andreevsky Descent. It is proposed to open a museum of the composer Alexander Koshyts at the same place.
- They said: “Bulgakov is one of the forerunners of the notorious “Russian world”, and this is vividly reflected in his dangerous books, where he glorified and glorified not only the reigning and the monarchy, but also the inhuman cruelty inherent in the Russians and which is the main feature of the Russian nation. His dismissive conceited attitude towards Ukraine causes only sincere anger and a feeling of disgust. “
- Alexander Tkachenko, recalling Bulgakov on his 130- years old, I said: one can treat his perception of the struggle of Ukrainians for their independence differently, as well as his rejection of Soviet power. However, according to the minister, “the genius of his works is time-tested.”
