In recent weeks, some former officials who are friendly to Trump have published their own “peace plans” for the war in Ukraine. There are many interesting points there.

Political scientist and partner of the Good Politics communications agency Maksym Dzhigun told Channel about this, commenting on the recent “peace plan” from former US Secretary of State under Trump Mike Pompeo.

What is known about the “peace plan”

As Dzhigun noted, now many influential former officials who do not yet occupy high positions are launching their own ideas regarding peace plans into the information space. There is something positive in this.

Apparently, they are trying to get into Trump's orbit and his field of vision. Of course, there are things there that he will not agree to. But the more pro-Ukrainian initiatives there are from people who are considered Trump's allies, the better it is for Ukraine. This fills the information vacuum, – Dzhigun noted.

Trump has said a lot of odious phrases regarding the war in Ukraine. There was talk of “ending the war in an hour”; and of calls to Putin and Zelensky, etc. But there were no specifics. These “peace plans” help to find tools.

But there is a question of how to force Trump to take such initiatives. After all, the $500 billion “lend-lease” for Ukraine, as proposed by Pompeo, is a truly incredible initiative.

Johnson's plan included a proposal to provide the necessary weapons and permission to strike deep into Russia. Pompeo's plan is a $500 billion lend-lease with the ability to weaken Russia's military potential. If such proposals became reality, it would turn into a victory for Ukraine, noted Dzhigun.
