Russia has once again violated international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions. A video of the alleged execution of a Ukrainian soldier, who was tied to a motorcycle and dragged along the road by Russians, has appeared on social media.
The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets reported on yet another crime committed by the occupiers.
Russians allegedly executed Ukrainian soldier
“This is demonstrative cruelty and another war crime by the Russian Federation. I have sent official letters to the UN and the ICRC. Russia is acting like a terrorist state. And it must bear fair responsibility for every crime,” Lubinets wrote.
The Ombudsman called on Ukrainians to report any cases of violations of the rights of Ukrainian citizens, in particular, possible executions of prisoners of war.

Lubinets stressed that such evidence is critical – it will help establish the truth, document war crimes, initiate an appropriate legal response and bring those responsible to justice in accordance with international and Ukrainian law.
Let us recall that in April, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgiy Tykhyi commented on a video released by the Associated Press, which showed the execution of four Ukrainian prisoners by Russian military personnel.
Tykhyi stated that such crimes indicate that Ukraine is dealing not with an army, but with animals.
Executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war are part of Russia's systemic policy. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion until April 2025, at least 245 cases of killings of Ukrainian prisoners have been documented.
