Three-week pause in Russian missile attacks on Ukraine: British intelligence named the reason

by alex

Russia is likely stockpiling missiles to attack critical infrastructure in Ukraine as cold weather sets in. This may explain the break in the massive missile attacks of the invaders.

Such conclusions were published by the British Ministry of Defense with reference to British intelligence data.

The department draws attention to the fact that long-range aircraft of the Russian Air Force did not strike strikes on Ukraine within 21 days – from September 21.

Now they are watching

As noted in intelligence, such breaks have happened before. The latter was observed from March 9 to April 28, 2023, that is, 51 days.

It was presumably due to the fact that the Russian long-range aviation had almost exhausted its reserves of combat-ready AS-23 (X-101) missiles “ after the winter campaign against Ukraine's critical infrastructure”.

– This time, it is likely that Russian long-range aviation is maintaining existing stocks of AS-23 missiles, and is also using this pause to increase usable stocks in expecting further heavy attacks on Ukraine during the winter, the intelligence service emphasized.

Now the aggressor has concentrated its attacks on grain facilities in southern Ukraine. The occupiers usually use Shahed kamikaze drones.

Among other things, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian ports on the Danube. As intelligence officials explain, these attacks “likely required a high level of precision due to the proximity of the target to the Romanian border.”

That is why the Russian Federation uses Shahed drones, which have higher accuracy compared to other types of weapons.
