Ramzan Kadyrov invited Vladimir Putin to visit Chechnya. The last time the Kremlin leader came to the republic was in 2011.

“Don” has three curious motives. Russian opposition politician Gennady Gudkov told Channel 24 more about them. Previously, we wrote why Putin forgives Kadyrov for his daring actions.

Three motives

Russia is a huge state, which includes more than 89 constituent entities. Putin probably did not visit most regions at all. At the same time, I have been to Chechnya many times.

Kadyrov invited Putin for the following reasons:

  1. show support;
  2. make sure that the head of Russia is real;
  3. remind of special friendship – the traditional values of the Kremlin “spiritual bonds”.

After 2011, many “bloody” events took place, behind which Ramzan Kadyrov and his henchmen stand. Therefore, “Don” wants to show Putin that he is ready to carry out any of his orders.

Cunning, cunning Kadyrov. Putin will come and promise money and something else. At the same time, Kadyrov will look to see if Putin is the real one. He picks at the paint from the “portrait” and makes sure that it is an original or a copy. They have some kind of personal relationship, if Putin is not real, this will soon become obvious,” Gennady Gudkov emphasized.

What is known about the “warm” relations between Putin and Kadyrov

  • The American Institute for the Study of War writes that a public invitation puts the Russian dictator in a difficult position, as he either ignores the invitation and risks being disparaged by Kadyrov, or accepts the invitation and risks looking like he is being pressured by the self-proclaimed leader of Chechnya.
  • On September 28, after a meeting with Vladimir Putin, Ramzan Kadyrov said that he was “Putin’s warrior.” In response, the Kremlin head promised the Chechen leader to build a mosque in Moscow. Putin is afraid of destabilization in Chechnya, so he is trying to appease Kadyrov.
  • It is also known that out of 158 officials, more than 30% of Ramzan Kadyrov’s relatives occupy senior leadership positions in Chechnya. Putin can’t do anything about it. The Kremlin leader seemed to “lay down” under the self-proclaimed head of Chechnya.
