The incident occurred in the middle of the day on September 17. Reuters reported that the wave of explosions continued for about an hour after the first detonations.

Numerous videos have been released online showing Hezbollah members' pagers exploding in public places.

What is known about the Hezbollah incident

A Hezbollah spokesman, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the pager explosion was “the biggest security breach” the group has suffered in nearly a year of conflict with Israel, the journalists wrote.

They added that the Israeli military declined to comment on journalists' inquiries about the explosions.

The Mehr news agency also reported that Iran's ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was injured in one of the explosions. However, the publication was unable to confirm this information.
