About this Channel 24said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in 2007-2009 Volodymyr Ohryzko. He also noted that Putin will press to the last and demand from his government that it inflict the maximum possible economic damage to Western countries.
“You see that gas supplies to Europe have stopped, everything is going to Russia will declare an energy war on the West.Putin himself is already absolutely open and frank about this, saying that this is a “response” to sanctions,” says Ohryzko.
According to him, it should be added that stopping gas supplies is absolute savagery, because this gas must go somewhere, it cannot just be underground.
Gas storages and gas pipelines of Russia are full, what Russia is doing now is simply starting to burn it. Sometimes you can find data that 10 million dollars worth of gas is burned daily, says the former foreign minister.
“Imagine the level of idiocy, I'm sorry, that prevails in Moscow today. On the other hand, nothing the occupiers cannot do anything else but such burnings,” adds Ohryzko.
In his opinion, the Russians go for broke and do everything to bring the West to its economic knees . But, as we know, our Western partners have accumulated about 80% of the required amount of gas to get through the winter.
As Vladimir Ogryzko explains, by November 1 they can still accumulate up to 10% of gas volumes. With the decision of the governments of some countries to reduce gas consumption by 15%, this means that the West will survive this winter.
“Of course, it will not be so easy, but this will be the last winter when Putin can resort to blackmail” , he concludes.
