The United States on Christmas Eve announced a record aid package for Ukraine. This happened after a Senate delegation visited Kyiv, and a conversation took place between the defense ministers of Ukraine and the United States.
As Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his traditional evening speech, the new package of American defense support for our state is very powerful.
The President of Ukraine noted that for the first time we will receive Bradley armored vehicles.
This is exactly what is needed. New guns and shells, including high-precision ones. New missiles. New drones. It's timely and powerful. The total amount of this support package from the United States is almost $3 billion,” Zelensky said.
He once again thanked US President Joe Biden, congressmen and all Americans who value freedom and know that freedom should be protected.
“Now we have a significant step forward by Germany to strengthen the security not only of Ukraine, but of the whole of Europe, primarily the region bordering Russia. Strengthening our air defense is direct work for de-escalation here and now. That there will be fewer opportunities in Russia to terrorize peaceful” cities the less the overall potential for Russian aggression will be,” the president added.
Zelensky also thanked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for the decision to provide Ukraine with the Patriot air defense system. According to the President of Ukraine, together with the shiny German IRIS-T Patriot, they will make the Ukrainian and European skies noticeably safer.
What does the record package of aid from the USA provide for?
The United States of America has announced a record almost $3 billion military aid package for Ukraine. For the first time, partners will provide a “tank killer” – the M2 Bradley armored vehicle.
Earlier media reported that the next aid package will include:
- additional HIMARS missile systems;
- HUMVEE armored vehicles;
- armored vehicles with enhanced mine protection MRAP;

Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak has already reacted to the news. He noted that such “snacks” for Christmas are very appropriate.
