Croatian President Zoran Milanovic is once again in a controversy over his cynical statements. He believes that Crimea will never again be part of Ukraine.
In addition, Milanovic also warned against confronting Russia, which has nuclear weapons. Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko has already responded to the scandalous statements, informs Channel 24.
Foreign Ministry reaction to Milanovic's statements
I wonder if Zoran Milanovic could become president of his country with such rhetoric in the 1990s, when Croatia was fighting to preserve its statehood? Would his voters agree to turn a blind eye to the occupation of part of the country's territory? I doubt it, said Nikolenko.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman recalled that due to external aggression, Croatia could lose a third of its lands. However, thanks to the heroic struggle, the Croats were able to defend the independence of their state.
Thus, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry considers unacceptable the statements of Milanovic, who actually questioned the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“Instead, we highly appreciate and thank the government of Croatia and the Croatian people for the unwavering support of Ukrainians in the fight against Russian aggression,” Nikolenko stressed.
Outrageous statements by the President of Croatia
- Zoran Milanovic held a press conference at which he said that Russia is a “superstate”. His argument is “unconditional”, saying that Putin has nuclear weapons, so it is impossible to beat him.
- The President of Croatia also noted that not a single American tank would go to Ukraine in a year. They will allegedly take all the German tanks they send there.
- Milanovich believes that Russia will eventually use nuclear weapons. According to him, “crazy emotions and hatred” are leading Europe to something they can't handle.
