On February 20, law enforcement agencies conducted a search in the Department of Trade and Life of the Department of Industry and Enterprise Development Kiev city state administration, as well as in the municipal enterprise “Svitoch” of the city of Kiev, according to the Department. Kyiv. In the opinion of the judge, who was granted permission to search, there are grounds to believe that the said officials intended to obtain an undue benefit of $500 for making a number of decisions related to their professional activities. The Department considers manifestations of corruption in its activities unacceptable and calls on law enforcement officers to carry out the necessary investigative actions and the court to make a decision if these facts are proven in the manner prescribed by law, the message says.
Also, the leadership of the Department initiated an internal investigation into the facts stated in the ruling of the investigating judge. But at the same time, it removed the defendants in the case from their posts.
