This is the potential for a spring or summer offensive, – Fedorov on military assistance from the West

by alex

Now the entire civilized world has united to provide Ukraine with effective military assistance in the fight against the enemy. The supply of Western equipment and weapons will allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to launch a counteroffensive in the spring or summer.

Military expert Yuri Fedorov spoke about this on Channel 24 . He put forward the thesis that the partners believe that Ukraine is not yet the time to supply fighter aircraft.

Fedorov suggested that for Ukraine's Western allies now the number one task is to ensure the defeat of the Russian offensive. And for this, first of all, artillery ammunition is needed, not even funds, but ammunition.

We also need tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, etc. All this is more or less delivered to Ukraine, creating the potential for a summer or spring offensive,” the speaker added.

We decided to wait with aviation

Fedorov recalled information that high-ranking American generals and their counterparts in Ukraine were reviewing and studying several options for a Ukrainian counteroffensive. However, with aviation for Ukraine, the Western allies decided to wait.

In order to use this aviation, Ukraine needs at least another six months to train pilots. However, they may have already begun to prepare, – said the military expert.

Why Ukraine is not in a hurry to transfer Western aviation

  • The United States, on which the possible transfer of F-16s to Ukraine depends, believes that Ukraine does not need these aircraft at this stage of the war. Washington is guided by the principle that each stage of the war needs different weapons.
  • Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov believes that F-16s or Gripen, or Italian Tornados are needed to launch a counteroffensive.
  • At the same time, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, says that Ukraine needs attack aircraft, not fighter aircraft. These are primarily A-10 and Thunderbolt II aircraft.
