The dismantled monument to Pushkin in Ternopil/Sergey Nadal's telegrams
A monument to the Russian poet Pushkin was dismantled in Ternopil on April 9th. Now the residents of the city insist on the demolition of other monuments associated with Russia.
This was announced by the mayor of Ternopil Serhiy Nadal on the air of the united news marathon. Channel 24 broadcasts the details.
The dismantling of the monument to Pushkin in Ternopil is only the first step
Sergey Nadal said that the monument to Pushkin in the city was < strong>rather controversial for more than a year now. There were discussions between Ternopils for a long time whether it should be demolished or not.
Before the start of active aggression on February 24, most residents were not active about dismantling. Now, after the crimes committed by Russian terrorists, there is no question of any Russian culture. Everything that is Russian should be dismantled, once and for all “pulled out” and forgotten, – the mayor of Ternopil stressed.
He added that there were a huge number of appeals from the townspeople who asked to dismantle the monument to the Russian poet as soon as possible . According to the mayor, this is only the first step, because Ternopils want to demolish other monuments, related, in particular, to the Second World War.
“There are also proposals to rename the streets. Already Petitions have appeared that are gaining the required number of votes, so we will follow this path,” the Mayor of Ternopil stressed.
