Это не выгодно Польше: почему Туск заговорил о закрытии границы с Украиной

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said about the possibility of completely closing the border with Ukraine and stopping the exchange of goods. However, our sales representative Taras Kachka noted that constructive negotiations are ongoing with the Polish authorities.

The statements of politicians are indeed cause for concern, but they do not correspond to reality in which negotiations take place. Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council Denis Marchuk told Channel 24 about this, adding that meetings with the Polish side give hope for resolving the situation.

Poland's losses from closing the border would be too great

It is known that negotiations took place with representatives of the Polish government. This conversation was indeed not easy, but it gives hope that in the near future it will be possible to talk about the final improvement of the situation on the border.

It seems to me that Tusk’s statement was aimed at domestic consumers, in particular at Polish business, which, in terms of indicators, imports significantly more into the territory of Ukraine than what Ukraine itself sells to Poland,” noted Denis Marchuk.

Therefore, the losses of the Poles in financial terms would be extremely large. You also need to understand that the decision to close the border means stopping the transit of Ukrainian goods to Europe. That is, we lose the opportunity to sell our products to European countries.

How then could the Germans, for example, who buy Ukrainian products, in particular grain, react to the actions of the Poles. Wouldn’t this, in turn, prompt them to block Poland? – Marchuk noted.

The best thing in this situation is to calm down and wait for official comments from our officials. After all, the border issue is very sensitive; Ukrainians have been living in a constant struggle for the opportunity to transport agricultural products for 4 months. We can only hope that in the near future we will find out what steps have been taken to solve this problem.
