The Russians hastily began holding their pseudo-referenda in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. They want to declare these lands Russian, but this imitation of the will will not significantly affect anything.
Pseudo-referendums threaten Russia more than us

It can be deprived of the right to veto and the right to vote.
“Referendums” are important only for propaganda
Kovalenko suggested that in the medium or long term pseudo-referenda can be considered as elements of an information-psychological special operation, of which there have been a lot over the past hundreds of years.
That is, in the future, the Russians will be able to use the fact of “146 percent support” of the local residents of the occupied territories to emphasize that people live there who wanted to join Russia, and we should not forget about them.

How the Russians are forced to “vote” in the “referenda”
It is clear that few residents of the occupied territories wanted to voluntarily go to the “referendum”. However, the Russians need at least some statistics, so they force the Ukrainians to “vote” for joining Russia.
To do this, the armed occupiers bypass houses and apartments, and control that people choose the answer they need. Locals fear that for refusing to “vote” or giving a negative answer, they could be imprisoned, tortured or even killed.
