This is just the beginning – Andryushchenko revealed details about the “hunger riot” in Mariupol and the Red Cross

There is a critical situation in the temporarily occupied Mariupol with the basic needs of citizens. Mariupol residents hope to get at least something that will help them survive, so they storm humanitarian supplies.

The situation in the city is deteriorating and the prolongation of the “hunger riots” is only a matter of time. This Channel 24 was told by the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol Petr Andryushchenko.

Humanitarian collapse

An adviser to the mayor of Mariupol noted that the latest incident occurred in the Gurov Jubilee Park in the Kalmiussky district.

There were ordinary Mariupol residents. The International Red Cross stopped by to distribute aid, saw how many people and what queues. After that, he tried not to distribute it, but to cancel the issue and leave. They tried to hide – failed. It was a real rebellion. It all ended with a distribution, but with big scandals and a big assault, – explained the representative of the mayor's office.

According to him, the reason for the assault was that the Red Cross “very much like order” when distributing such assistance.

“People had to register online in this queue to receive humanitarian aid, and then receive it. We are surprised to hear about this in Ukraine. The same applies to occupied Mariupol. With poor Internet connection, it looks like some kind of wildness. But these rules have been in place since the end of July – after the first arrival,” Andryushchenko added.

Cruel everyday life

The adviser noted that there is no other humanitarian aid in Mariupol, since the occupiers distribute it only to people over 65 years old, children under 3 years old and people with disabilities.

The queue was, of course, long. This is the first time, but we are sure not the last. Because when people are driven to the edge, Mariupol residents are ready to protest. This is a completely apolitical rebellion. This is a rebellion for basic needs. And we are confident that this is only the beginning, given the number of unresolved issues. Andryushchenko stressed.

At the same time, he added that the mayor's office was sure that this could be the last visit of the Red Cross to Mariupol.

“They are definitely not ready for such challenges. Or next time the CHH will come with the Russian military to protect them from the “evil and embittered” Mariupol residents. Therefore, this routine begins in Mariupol. We are sure that this is only the beginning and will continue to be”, – the adviser explained.

In his opinion, when there is no “Russian humanitarian aid” anywhere in the city and any other help, such assaults will take place more often.

“Let's see what will continue with the Red Cross. Observation of the activities of the Red Cross in Mariupol says that they simply will not be there. Everything is based on the principle “if you do not see the problem, you can assume that it does not exist,” summed up Andryushchenko.

The situation in Mariupol today: breaking news

  • Russians do not give up hope of holding pseudo-referendums in the occupied territories. In particular, active preparation of Russians for this was noticed in Mariupol.
  • According to the GUR, the majority of Mariupol residents are not going to vote during the so-called “referendum”. Most people are angry at the invaders.
  • Vice President of Mariupol Andrey Sanin showed how the occupation of the city affected the football club. The training fields of the Azov team fell into decay.
  • In addition, it became known that the Russians brought their system of corruption to Mariupol, which had been in the temporarily occupied Donetsk for all 8 years. This is the best anti-advertising of Russia in the region for local residents.
