The Russian dictator has created the opportunity for himself to remain in power for several more years. Unless Russia is defeated in a full-scale war against Ukraine, then the world will have to continue to deal with him.
This was stated by former commander of US Ground Forces in Europe and Africa Ben Hodges, commenting on the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine.
Will the situation at the front change
In response to a journalist’s question about whether we should expect any changes on the battlefield due to Putin remaining in power, Ben Hodges said that this is bad news for thousands of Russian men.

— Putin's stay in power means that they will continue to be pushed into the meat grinder, where they will be killed in the hundreds per day, as is happening now. I don't see that this will change anything on the battlefield, — says the American officer.
In his opinion, Russia does not have sufficient strength for Ukraine to be forced to lose in a full-scale war.
Ben Hodges noticed that the Russian occupiers were unable to use the technical success a month ago in Avdiivka, Donetsk region.
The American officer believes that this year Ukraine will stabilize the situation and buy time to increase logistics, giving Western countries time to find more ammunition. He expressed hope that Ukraine will be able to increase the size of its troops during this period.
