Fursa explained what will happen to the hryvnia exchange rate/Channel 24 hryvnia against the dollar at the level of 29 hryvnia 25 kopecks. This will continue until the end of Russia's war against Ukraine.
According to investment banker Sergei Fursa, we are now seeing the result of the reforms carried out in the banking sector in 2014-2015. He announced this on the air of Channel 24.
Qualitative passage of the crisis
This is a completely normal decision. The National Bank of Ukraine is an example of the quality of the crisis, – said Fursa.
As the banker noted, Ukraine is now in crisis – the war has affected at least 2/5 of the country's territories, so the economy is likely to fall by 30%. However, the hryvnia exchange rate is stable, and there are much fewer currency restrictions than in Russia.
“We can now freely buy dollars. Even the exchange rate on the black market is 32-33 hryvnia. That is, there is no fundamental difference,” – Fursa noted.
What helps to keep the course
The banker noted that the impossibility of exporting by Ukrainian ports, for example, the record harvest that our farmers gathered, as well as the situation with Ukrainian metallurgy, Mariupol – should hit hard on the hryvnia. However, on the other hand, imports also fell, because it helps to keep the course.
He also added that our Western partners are actively helping Ukraine. They are now actually financing the huge budget deficit arising from the war.
