Military of the International Legion defend Kharkiv region/Channel 24 Collage
In the war against Russia, representatives of the International Legion from 55 countries are fighting along with our military. Now some of them courageously defend the Kharkiv region from enemies.

Anna Chernenko, a correspondent from Kharkov, told Channel 24 about the work of international legionnaires in the Kharkiv region. In addition, people come from different countries even to join the removal of rubble.
In particular, representatives of the International Legion, even sometimes despite the lack of military experience, join the struggle of Ukraine against Russia. They pass the relevant exercises and start working.
“We must be with you”
Our journalist managed to communicate with volunteers from Poland and others countries of the world and find out what their motivation is.
We in Poland think that this war is also our war. I have come to you to help you. We used to send a lot of humanitarian aid, but we decided that we should be here with you, in Kharkiv,” said Pole Jerzy Yurchinsky.
He managed to raise money together with the fund in two weeks and buy two fire trucks for the needs Ukraine. The fact is that in the Kharkiv region there is not a day without fires caused by enemy shelling.

British fighter Craighe said that as a child he read many stories about the Holocaust and the Holodomor and decided that if this happened during his lifetime, he would become brave enough to fight against it.
At the same time, a legionnaire from USA – Erin – said that he felt the need to help people.
“When President Zelensky called on people from other countries to help, I realized that I had to do it. Because when I am 70 years old, I will feel that I have done nothing for this world and will feel my life without meaning,” said Erin.

Volunteers from all over the world in the Kharkiv region
Firefighters come from Nuremberg, and steeplejacks from the United States of America. While volunteers from Poland are cooperating with the State Emergency Service.
Occupiers shelled Kharkiv again
- Around 06:32 on July 23, explosions thundered in the city, and a minute later, residents were informed of a possible threat – they turned on air raid signals. Locals say that the explosion was heard again in the center of Kharkiv.
- Igor Terekhov stressed that the enemy had inflicted several heavy blows on the area of the city center. According to preliminary information, one person was injured.
- The head of the Kharkiv OVA noted that a residential building, office space, and an educational institution, the A.M. Beketov National University of Urban Economy, were hit.
The region also suffers from the Russians
During the day on July 23, Russian troops also attacked Kharkov, Bogodukhovsky, Chuguevsky, Izyumsky districts.
Active shelling was again on Chuguev region. In the Zmiev community, three pieces of ammunition hit the open area at once. In the same community, the invaders destroyed 30 hectares of wheat.
In the Bogodukhovsky district, private houses and outbuildings were hit by the invaders, several fires broke out during the day. Unfortunately, a 74-year-old woman died in the Zolochiv community, 4 people were injured.
