Default in Russia/Channel 24 Collage
According to Bloomberg, Russia has defaulted on foreign currency sovereign debt due to sanctions.
Due to the default, there are certain consequences for companies that are Russian residents. Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danilo Getmantsev told Channel 24 about this.
He explained that these residents influence the decrease in the value of shares of their parent companies.
Undoubtedly, these circumstances in general have a very negative impact on all companies that are still present in Russia. This process is relentless and companies will step out of Russia step by step,” Daniil Getmantsev explained.
“It's a matter of time. But we should not wait for some event, some date, indicating that the Russian economy is destroyed. This is a process. A long process. A difficult process,” Getmantsev said.
He added that in this process Ukraine is much more difficult than the aggressor. After all, it is on our territory that hostilities are being conducted, and not on the territory of Russia.
