On January 18, a plane crash occurred in Brovary, in which the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as citizens who were unlucky to be at the site of the helicopter crash. What exactly caused the tragedy, the investigation should subsequently report.
However, the Air Force noted that helicopters of this model have proven themselves well. Yuri Ignat, spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about this on the air of the telethon, Channel 24 reports.

There are dozens of such aircraft in the air fleet of Ukraine. They were transferred from European countries for the needs, in particular, of the State Emergency Service.

He noted that today state aviation has a lot of aircraft, because without them it is difficult to imagine the activity of:
- border service,
- National Guard,
- State Emergency Service,
- National Police, etc.
In this case, not only cars from Soviet times are used, but also those supplied by partners.
Today, virtually everyone has wings and helicopters, and is provided with what is. It is clear that we cannot produce our own helicopters. In our Armed Forces, the main fleet is the Mi-8 and Mi-2, as well as the Mi-24, from the Soviet times. Other departments are supplied with such helicopters from European countries,” said Yuri Ignat.
What is known about the plane crash in Brovary: briefly
- On January 18, a helicopter crashed near a kindergarten and damaged its building . Because of this, there are victims and deaths, in particular among children.
- On board the helicopter at that time were Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky, his deputy Yevgeny Yenin and state secretary of the department Yuri Lubkovich. Unfortunately, they all died.
- Currently, due to the plane crash under the control of the SBU, an investigation is ongoing. It should establish the cause of the tragedy.
