German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock said that everyone who talks about a possible freeze of the war should familiarize themselves with the UN report on war crimes by the Russian army in Ukraine. Before a meeting of the EU Council in Brussels, she stressed that Berlin supports using the proceeds from Russia’s frozen assets as soon as possible so that the Ukrainian military can liberate the occupied territories, reports the correspondent of 24 Channel.

Burbock also responded to those who call to stop supporting Ukraine. She advised such people to read the latest UN report on war crimes by Russian soldiers in Ukraine.

This report reads like a horror book. Anyone who reads this report, in my opinion, will not talk again about a possible freeze in the conflict, because the report makes clear what a freeze means for all the people who are still forced to live under Russian control, under Russian violence every day and, first of all, every night,” said the German minister.

She quoted the words of a Ukrainian woman from the occupied territory, who said that the worst thing about the occupation is the night, because people don’t know , whether Russian soldiers will come again to rape them.

Against this background, Burbock called on ministers to agree on the use of proceeds from Russia's blocked assets so that Ukrainians under occupation will finally be freed.

UN report on torture in captivity
