US Department of Defense spokesman Patrick Ryder said North Korean troops would become cannon fodder if they were sent to fight in Ukraine.
The Pentagon press secretary expressed this opinion during a briefing.

Ryder decided to comment on this issue given the deepening military cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow, which has led to speculation that the Russian Federation could potentially ask North Korea to send troops to Ukraine to help the Russian invaders. < /p>Now watching
– If I were in charge of North Korea's military personnel, I would question my choice to send my forces as cannon fodder in the illegal war against Ukraine. We have seen the losses of Russian troops. But again, we will keep an eye on this,” Ryder said.
He also commented on talk that South Korea needs to consider the nuclear option in the midst of developing military cooperation between the Russian Federation and the DPRK.
“Our policy has not changed as it relates to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,” the Pentagon spokesman emphasized.
The US will continue to work closely with allies from South Korea and Japan and others in the region to ensure security and stability throughout the Indo-Pacific region”.
Recall that last week Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, which provides for the immediate provision of military assistance in the event of an armed attack on one of the countries.
