US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced on July 2 that Ukraine will receive a new batch of missiles for air defense systems. Our American partners will transfer these weapons in an accelerated time frame.

The new batch of missiles will be part of a new aid package that the United States will soon announce. Austin made his statement during a meeting with his Ukrainian colleague Rustem Umerov.

A new batch of air defense missiles will be transferred to Ukraine promptly

The head of the Pentagon noted that missiles for Ukrainian air defense systems will be delivered to the Ukrainian military directly to the front line at an accelerated pace. This, according to Austin, is due to the fact that the United States decided to transfer such weapons to Ukraine out of turn.

At the same time, because of this, supplies of weapons to other allies of the United States will be postponed.

Ukraine has been in a tough fight since the beginning of the reckless war that Putin chose. The Kremlin continues to intensify its bombing of your cities and civilians. But I remain amazed by the skill of your troops, and your troops continue to fend off Russian attacks with tenacity, resourcefulness and courage,” Austin said.

The Pentagon chief also once emphasized that Ukraine is not alone in the battle with Russia. And the United States, Austin said, will never waver in its support, along with more than 50 allies and partners, so it will continue to provide the critical capabilities Ukraine needs to “repel Russian aggression today and deter Russian intentions tomorrow.”

Recall that the United States is to announce a new aid package for Ukraine worth $2.3 billion. Austin also said that thanks to this package, the Pentagon will order more missiles for the Patriot and NASAMS systems to replenish its own warehouses and quickly provide these ammunition to Ukraine.
