During the fighting in Gostomel, Russia lost 200 elite specialists in seizing airfields.

The commander of the special forces unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine spoke about this during a meeting of the Ukrainian authorities with representatives of the diplomatic corps of foreign states on the implementation of the Vladimir Peace Formula Zelensky.

The event was dedicated to the implementation of the sixth point of the Formula — The withdrawal of Russian troops and the cessation of hostilities was initiated by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Ermak.

Ermak spoke about the symbolic significance for Ukraine of the place where the event took place.

— On February 24 last year, the battle for the capital of Ukraine began here. Here the myth of the invincibility of the Russian army was broken. Here the Kremlin’s ambitions to “take Kyiv in three days” dissipated. And here, during five weeks of occupation, the “Russian world” showed its true essence: robbery, torture, massacres, — said the head of the Office of the Head of State.

During the meeting, a speech was made by the Hero of Ukraine, commander of a special forces unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), an intelligence officer who participated in the battle for Kiev, whose name is not mentioned.

He reminded diplomats of the details of the military operations in Gostomel , where the Russians intended to land troops and capture the Antonov airfield.

According to Moscow’s plan, the airfield near Kiev was to serve as a key hub for the rapid transfer of equipment and manpower by transport aircraft for the further occupation of the capital of Ukraine.

— It seems that the Russians thought that they would repeat the scenario of capturing the airfield, as during the “Pristina throw” in Kosovo on June 12, 1999. They thought that in Gostomel they would repeat the scenario of seizing the airfield, as during the events in Kazakhstan in early January 2022. They were so self-confident, not realizing that they were dealing with Ukrainians, — noted Hero of Ukraine.

The intelligence officer explained that the actions of the special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and other units of the State Security and Defense Forces in Gostomel were aimed at destroying as many enemy forces and assets as possible and preventing the capture of the airfield.

As a result of fierce fighting The runways at the airport became unsuitable for receiving Russian transport aircraft with troops and equipment. The enemy suffered significant losses.

— In the battles for the Antonov airfield, the aggressor state lost about200 elite combat specialists in capturing airfields and airports, who have participated in this type of military exercise for decades, — said a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

An officer of the Military Intelligence of Ukraine called on the ambassadors of 70 states to support the Peace Formula of President Zelensky and put the pressure on Russia.

— Our common task is to put the finishing touches on the enemy so that the last enemy soldier leaves the entire territory of Ukraine, as it was in 1991. Vladimir Zelensky's peace plan is clear and understandable — the enemy must leave all occupied territories of Ukraine, only after this a large-scale negotiation process should begin to resolve all, without exception, issues provoked by Russian aggression, — summed up the Hero of Ukraine.

When discussing the Peace Formula of Vladimir Zelensky, the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Ermak emphasized that the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine without turning the war into a frozen conflict will determine global security for decades to come.

— This could serve as a universal mechanism for ending international armed conflicts in the future. The corresponding instruments implemented in the context of the war in Ukraine can become universal and be reflected in the resolutions of the UN General Assembly, — Andrey Ermak is convinced.

We recall that earlier the Security Service of Ukraine said that in January and February 2022, government officials of the Antonov enterprise did not allow the military to equip the defense of the AN-225 Mriya aircraft at the airfield in Gostomel.
