In the Odessa region, border guards stopped a car in which there was a driver and ten men. They wanted to illegally cross the state border, for which they paid the organizer up to $10 thousand.

The plan to illegally cross the border failed thanks to the vigilance of border guards. The State Border Guard Service notes that the driver of the car faces criminal liability, and the passengers face administrative liability.
In Ukraine, mobilization and martial law have been ongoing since 2022, and they plan to extend them until early May. In this regard, men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country.
Despite the restrictions, there are schemes in Ukraine through which organizers help men cross the border illegally for significant amounts of money.
The State Border Service previously reported that from the beginning of mobilization to October 2024, more than 40 men died while trying to illegally cross the border of Ukraine.
Most often, death occurred while trying to swim across a river, or cross the border through mountains or forests.
