They wanted to copy Glock: the Russians themselves were shocked by the numerous shortcomings of their pistol

The Russians were embarrassed when creating an analogue of the Glock-17/Collage 24 Channel< p _ngcontent-sc90 class="news-annotation">The Kalashnikov Concern tried to produce an analogue of the Austrian Glock-17 pistol. However, something went wrong with the Russians during production.

“Cyber Resistance” posted on social networks a report that the Russian Guard received from SOBR. In 2023, from April 20 to May 24, Russian security forces tested modular pistols MPL and MPL-1 of 9-mm caliber.

What tests showed

The occupiers started having problems already at the stage of installing a laser target designator and a flashlight on the MPL and MPL-1. They were not tightly fixed in the rearmost position, which negatively affected the accuracy of the pistols.

The collimators in service with SOBR were also not normally installed on these weapons, because that the points for fixing on the shutter turned out to be not universal. The security forces tried to install the Holosun collimator through the adapter, but its sight blocked the front and rear sights. This immediately makes it impossible to fire if there are problems with the collimator.

It also turned out that after 20 shots, the bolts securing the upper part of the MOS mounting system loosen on these models. Testers stated that this failure is permanent and may result in loss of parts.

When shooting with a silencer and collimator installed, powder gases enter the front part of the optical device and contaminate the lens. The tactical holster for the MPL turned out to be cumbersome. In addition, the occupiers complained about the insufficient information content of the indicator holes on the magazine.

And these models also have safety problems. They can be assembled incorrectly without installing a fuse, which also has an insufficiently tight spring. The safety itself can be removed from the pistol without completely disassembling the weapon. At the same time, the ability to fire will still remain.

How Ukrainian hackers reacted

Cyberactivists commented on Russian documents.

The Kalashnikov Concern wanted to make a GLOCK, but it turned out as usual. And this is not our opinion, but the feedback of the Russian Guards,” the message says.

Members of the “Cyber Resistance” noted that the Kalashnikov concern is without Hugo Schmeiser and under anti-Russian sanctions unable to organize the production of high-quality pistols.

Other successes of our hackers

  • Not long ago, cyber activists hacked the database of the Russia-Africa 2023 summit, which was held in St. Petersburg on July 27 and 28. The files showed that Vladimir Putin personally supervised the preparations for the event and began to do this after full-scale Russian aggression. th separate operational brigade of the Russian Guard. During the temporary occupation of Kherson, this invader dispersed peaceful rallies and tortured local residents.
  • Let us remind you that our hackers received secret official documents of the Russian 72nd separate motorized rifle brigade. They contain the names, positions and ranks of thousands of occupiers and information about the time and order of their movement to the territory of Ukraine.
