Russian invaders continue to terrorize the civilian population in the Kherson region. The Russians systematically strike at the liberated right bank of the region.
This was told to Channel 24 by the head of the Joint Press Center of the Security and Defense Forces of the South, Natalya Gumenyuk. According to her, over the past day, the invaders carried out more than 120 attacks on various settlements in the Kherson region.
Kherson and Antonovka, which is located nearby, suffer the most from the blows of the enemy.
But the fiery defeat of the enemy reaches up to Chernobaevka. That is, the Russians are shelling not only directly coastal settlements, – said Gumenyuk.
According to her, over the past day, as a result of enemy shelling, 3 civilians were injured. They were provided with medical assistance.
Justification for collaborators
At the same time, the Russian invaders open fire on the settlements under occupation on the left bank of the Kherson region. In particular, the Russians are attacking the city of Oleshki. And then they cynically lie that these strikes are allegedly the work of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The Russians are carrying out complex work. The goal of the enemy is multi-layered. But one of the main tasks of the enemy is to create an excuse for the collaborative government , which is looking for arguments in order to evacuate itself,” said the representative of OK Yug.

Russians want to escape closer to Crimea
The Russian military themselves also cannot feel safe on the left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region.
“The occupiers are aware that the resistance movement reveals their positions and bases. The defense forces know about them, which is why the Russians are trying to hide among the local population, because they realize that the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not hit the locals,” Gumenyuk said.
According to her, the Russian invaders are trying to justify to their military-political leadership the need to leave the left bank of the Kherson region.
The Russians are gradually taking out their belongings, family members and are trying to evacuate themselves deeper towards the Crimea. They realize that our combat work and fire control in the direction of Oleshki, Novaya Kakhovka, Cossack Camps are quite powerful and effective. Gumenyuk said.
She added that the invaders are well aware that their locations can be hit at any moment.
One way ticket for occupiers
Also the enemy continues to shell the south of the Nikolaev area.
“However, shelling has become much less frequent and less intense. After all, that part of the Kinburn Spit, which belongs to the Nikolaev region and from where the enemy usually fires, is more characterized as a “gray zone,” the press secretary of OK Yug said.
As Gumenyuk explained, the enemy can only from time to time overturn their artillery and mortar installations on the Kinburn Spit in order to strike.
But even among the occupiers themselves, this road was dubbed as a “one-way ticket.” They know that the very first shot reveals their position for us, and we can strike back, – said the press secretary of OK Yug.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to strike at enemy equipment. However, this is aggravated by the fact that the Russians are hiding behind the civilian population, which still remains in the settlements on the Kinburn Spit.
Enemy terrorizes shipping lanes
The head of the Joint Press Center of the Southern Security and Defense Forces also said that the Russian invaders are trying to terrorize the sea transport routes. The Russians are systematically shelling:
- the water area of the Ochakovsky port,
- the water area of the Dnieper-Bug estuary;
- coasts of the Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities of the Nikolaev region.
“By shelling the coast itself, the Russians hope that in this way they will destroy our observation posts, with the help of which we can detect their positions on the Kinburn Spit,” Gumenyuk explained.
What else is happening in the South of Ukraine: briefly
- Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Anna Malyar said that Russian propagandists arrived to “shoot” in the Kherson region – in areas that are now under temporary Russian occupation. They filmed objects that the invaders themselves fired on the day before in order to discredit the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
- The Russians are searching houses and confiscating boats from residents of the occupied part of Kherson. As Kherson activist Volodymyr Molchanov explained, the occupiers do not have enough of their watercraft, because the Armed Forces of Ukraine systematically eliminate enemy boats along with the invaders on board.
- In the Kherson region, Ukrainian artillerymen are powerfully covering the Russian occupiers with fire. In particular, the Ukrainian defenders struck at Radensk, where the enemy's Grad MLRS crews were located.
