Piontkovsky spoke about the US policy in countering Russia/Channel 24 collage
Russia's strategic defeat in the war against Ukraine has long been obvious to most of the world. And it is with the support of the United States that Ukraine can “resolve the issue” with Vladimir Putin, but this requires more weapons.
Russian opposition publicist Andrei Piontkovsky spoke about this, Channel 24 reports.
Biden fears that Ukraine will shoot at Russia
On June 1, the US head announced another tranche of military assistance to Ukraine , within which they plan to supply the HIMARS rocket artillery system with ammunition.
Help.HIMARS is the most powerful multiple launch rocket system from the United States. The M270 version is in Ukrainian service. She fires 12 shots per minute. It takes about 20 seconds and 3 people to put this system on alert. The range of the M270 HIMARS is from 2 to 300 kilometers. However, there are also shells capable of hitting a target at a distance of up to 120 kilometers. In any case, the M270 HIMARS fires 12 of these missiles per minute. Each of them will hit the target with a probability of 98%.
Earlier, Biden said that Ukraine would not be supplied with missile systems capable of striking Russia. Then the media wrote that the president did not rule out sending Ukraine MLRS with a shorter range.
Piontkovsky was indignant at why Ukraine could not hit, say, the Belgorod airport, from where Russian fighter jets take off, destroying Ukrainian cities, killing civilians and military .
This is a psychological concession that continues Biden's words that NATO will not fight on the territory of Ukraine and will not close the sky. Did they really not understand that this was a proposal for further aggression, – asked a Russian opposition publicist.

Piontkovsky added that the number of HIMARS announced in the 11th aid package from the US is not enough. He stressed that if the United States handed over 100 HIMARS to Ukraine, then within two weeks the issue with Putin could be historically resolved.
“Americans have some kind of indecision. It's like caution before jumping into the unknown,” Piontkovsky said.
What was the policy of previous US leaders
- Barack Obama considered any interference in world processes as a manifestation of American imperialism. Already before leaving the presidency of the United States, Obama said: “The problem is that the Russians want to rape Ukraine more than we want to protect it.”
- Donald Trump argued that America does not need any allies who will only try to exploit it financially.
At the same time, the current US presidential administration has no fear of Putin.
They understand that Putin seems to be in their hands, but the question is whether to cut this thread on which he is holding on, or not. But the price of these hesitation is terrible – hundreds of killed Ukrainian military every day and thousands of civilians, – said Piontkovsky.
According to him, both Americans and Europeans understand that Putin has already lost.
