The war between Hamas and Israel has been going on for more than a month. The densely built underground city is preventing the IDF from quickly clearing the Gaza Strip. It has even been proposed to run water and gas into the tunnels.

However, no one will do this, because terrorists are holding hostages in the underground city. Military expert Grigory Tamar shared this information with Channel 24 , adding that there is an alternative option for clearing the tunnels without harming the hostages.

How to clear the tunnels under the Gaza Strip

As the military expert emphasized, the liquidation of Hamas is equivalent to rescuing hostages from a dungeon in the Gaza Strip. Israeli intelligence searches for and destroys diesel fuel warehouses and Hamas diesel power plants, thanks to which the ventilation in the tunnels operates. After all, without ventilation it is impossible to stay in an underground city.

It's much easier than digging canals and pumping water. Good in theory, but different in practice. Allowing our hostages to die because we flooded them with water is probably not a good idea. – emphasized Grigory Tamar.

Israel is making interesting tactical steps to resolve the military situation with Hamas. In addition, no country has fought in such conditions as Jerusalem. After all, the Israelis are conducting not only a ground operation, but also an underground one, where the length of the tunnels is more than 500 kilometers.

IDF operation in the Gaza Strip: what is known

  • So far, Israel has managed to reach the Gaza coast. The IDF hit approximately 50 Hamas targets, including operational headquarters, outposts, military positions and underground infrastructure. In addition, terrorists were eliminated in close combat. Israel added that the fire will not stop.
  • The IDF said ground forces on November 6 took control of a Hamas military camp in the Gaza Strip that housed observation posts, training grounds and underground tunnels for terrorists. IDF fighters managed to eliminate several Hamas terrorists.
  • Satellite images show Israeli troops have advanced for many kilometers and appear to have effectively cut off Hamas militants from the south. The IDF is advancing along three main routes – from the northwest, northeast and south.
