Russian media began to spread fakes that the invaders are planning a new offensive in the north of the Kharkiv region. However, this is nothing more than talk.
ThisChannel 24 was told by the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Kirill Sazonov. According to him, the Russian invaders are really actively telling that they are preparing for an offensive in the North.
As Sazonov noted, the invaders are also dispersing information about the preparation of schools to accommodate additional personnel in the Bryansk region of Russia. In addition, the Russian authorities report on the pulling of resources to the Kursk region, allegedly to protect the border.
Why do the Russians lie about a new offensive in the Kharkiv region
The military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that all this is just a mist.
We are monitoring the concentration of forces and equipment, for where the replenishment is being taken, the ammunition load, that is, where the “fist” is going. And statements in the media and such stories are more of a distraction,” Sazonov said.
He added that it is not clear who the Russians are trying to mislead. If in this way the occupiers want to cheat the APU, then this is impossible. After all, the Ukrainian military trusts its own intelligence, not the Russian media.
Sazonov suggested that stories about preparations for an attack in the Kharkiv region could be directed primarily at the Russian population.
” He doesn’t come out near Bakhmut – until we tell our people from the TV that we are launching an offensive in the Kharkiv region. Or maybe the Ukrainians will believe, and then we will hit Bakhmut,” the fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine suggested.
How the commander of the Ground Forces fooled the Russians
Sazonov noted that the Russians fell into just such an information trap in 2022.

Military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Alexander Syrsky (Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – Channel 24) caught them very well on this topic. We actually received a command to prepare for Kherson, threw all the reserves there. We were ripped off, whom from where. We all went to Kherson and prepared for his release. And the Russians were preparing to defend him.
However, according to the military, at the same time, Ukrainian defenders made a successful raid behind enemy lines in the Kharkiv region began to liberate the region with lightning speed.
“Perhaps the invaders are trying to repeat the experience of Syrsky. However we are not so gullible. We see that they are concentrating forces in the East, and not at all in the North,” Sazonov stressed.
- In the summer of 2022, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered the military to de-occupy part of the southern territories temporarily occupied by Russia. Ukraine began to gather forces for an offensive in the South.
- The Russians began to gather troops and equipment in the Kherson region. In particular, Russia deployed additional forces to the right bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region.
- However, on September 6, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a lightning-fast counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian troops liberated settlements one after another from invaders.
- In December 2022, Alexander Syrsky, commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were so quick and unexpected for the invaders that this led to panic, loss of control and flight.
- Syrsky noted that during the offensive they planned to de-occupy much less territories. However, according to him, this gave a significant impetus to further offensive actions of the Ukrainian military.
