Russian generals face the problem of controllability of their troops every day of offensive operations. Basically, they succeed, but there is no talk of a global loss of influence on personnel. Nevertheless, such problems are becoming more serious for the high command.
According to Channel 24 sources in intelligence, Russian groups in Ukraine, as well as gangs of militants and mobilized, perform tasks mainly because of fear of their own command and barrage detachments. Of course, there are units that do not require additional motivation and enjoy the war.
Such groups of invaders include members of neo-Nazi organizations, but they are still a minority. Nevertheless, for the most part, the invading army consists of non-humans who are brutalized with fear and vent their own anger on prisoners and civilians.
The biggest problem is with the mobilized
- According to intelligence, in order to motivate their troops, Russian political officers do a lot of work and distribute propaganda videos with “atrocities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” among the invaders.
- At the same time, the invaders are told about the “success of the special operation” and that they will soon be able to go home.
- On the ground, right before the battles, the commanders motivate their subordinates with grandiloquent phrases about the “feat of grandfathers”, promises of harsh punishment for everyone who shows cowardice and does not follow the order.
- In between combat operations, representatives of the middle officer level warn everyone that flight from positions will lead to a return to the front, and deserters will be sent to storm positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of mobilized detachments in ORDLO.
- The ability to participate in battles, along with “cannon fodder” forcibly sent to war, serves as a fairly serious safeguard for the escape of Russian conscripts and contractors.
However, no matter how strange it may seem, since mid-May the invaders, to their surprise, began to realize that they were losing control over the most disenfranchised and intimidated by them categories of combatants – men mobilized in the Donbass. As it turned out, during the three months of full-scale hostilities, those forcibly sent to war experienced a psychological turning point. It dawned on them that they had no chance at all to survive, and instead of panicking, men in some places cast aside their fear of the Russians and began to act. “Republics”. Others ask relatives to consult with lawyers in order to get them out of the war “legally”.
In desperation, some men even remembered that the “LNR” is “another state”, and according to the “constitution” of the “DNR”, their participation in the war in the Luhansk region is illegal. As if in quasi-formations, at least some kind of legality was ever discussed.
Many cornered mobilized take flight at every opportunity. So, on May 25, the “military” of the so-called 3rd rifle battalion from the 105th rifle regiment deserted en masse. The fugitives rushed to Donetsk, where they tried to hide with relatives or friends, in the premises of bus stations and even in the basements of high-rise buildings. The escaped mobilized were caught throughout the mining capital by several thousand Russian military and “policemen” from CADLO.
CADLO under the threat of a social explosion
According to the invaders themselves, the beginning of a full-scale invasion followed by total mobilization had a significant impact on the mood of many local residents. Of course, most of the inhabitants of Donbass, due to the incredible influence of propaganda, fully support the war with Ukraine. But little by little, something began to dawn on some.
Be that as it may, the relatives of many mobilized fully understand that their men and children were thrown into the war without preparation and with complete disregard for the value of their lives.
The concentration of “power” on issues of war, with complete disregard for the social component, also adds questions to Pushilin and Pasechnik. For example, in Donetsk, people have been sitting without water supply since March, while the head of the quasi-republic talks about intentions to turn on the water in Mariupol. In addition, residents of Donbass and Luhansk region are annoyed by stories about the restoration of the territories of Donbass occupied by Russia, while for 8 years they have not done anything to restore buildings damaged during hostilities, even in the “capitals”.It also depresses people situation with mobilization and war. Due to the neglect of “booking” in the Donbass, large enterprises stop, business is destroyed. At the same time, the majority understands that it will be impossible to resume work even after the war, at any end of it.
