Many Belarusians are fighting in Ukraine, who defend the right to freedom with us. But in their homeland, the families of the Belarusian defenders are being hunted by the local GUBOPiK bodies, which in some places smash the houses of their native fighters.

This was reported to channel 24 by Radio Liberty's own correspondent in Belarus Valery Kalinovsky. He also noted that the Belarusian security forces threaten the families of Belarusians who are fighting on the side of Ukraine.

The security forces come to their homes and organize pogroms. In some places there are even cases of detention or imprisonment, says Kalinouski.

According to the journalist, the Belarusian fighters fighting for Ukraine declare exactly this – they are fighting for the independence of Belarus too, because their relatives are under constant pressure.

Meanwhile, Belarusian activists from Gayun recorded the training of Belarusian troops closer to the border with Ukraine.

During September 1, activists recorded the movement of Belarusian fighters and helicopters from Brest and Kobrin:

  • 14:30 Brest – 4 fighters flew south ;
  • 14:35 Kobrin – two Mi-24 helicopters were flying towards the south-west;
  • 14:40 Brest – fighters turned towards the event;
  • 14:50 Kobrin – two fighters flew towards the north, two more fighters joined from the north.

Belarusian Gayun” reminded that at the beginning of this week, fighters from Lida and Baranovichi, as well as helicopters from Machulishchi, began training over the 230th combined-arms training ground “Obuz-Lesnovsky” in the Baranovichi region.

Activists stated that at the moment everything indicates that their training zone has shifted much closer to the border with Ukraine.

In Belarus, during the exercises, the Belarusian military will train to capture part of Ukraine

will train maneuvering defense with the subsequent transition to the counteroffensive. After that, they will work out for the first time “the liberation of the temporarily occupied territories and access to the state border.”

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that, probably, the so-called lost territory means the border areas of the Volyn, Rivne and Zhytomyr regions.
