Russian troops near Kyiv destroyed and destroyed everything they could. Residents of some cities and villages stayed under occupation for more than a month, until the Russians began to flee from the Kyiv region.

Local residents who managed to leave on time exclusively told the Channel 24 website what they had done to their house an occupying army that lived there for quite some time.

So, the family purchased a beautiful house in the village of Podlesye, Brovarsky district, back in February 2021. Then nothing foreshadowed trouble, but after February 24 everything changed. When the Russian army began to gradually occupy the Kyiv agglomeration, it became clear that it was necessary to leave as soon as possible.

We decided to go abroad when we learned from our neighbors that rashist troops were in neighboring village. Also, checkpoints and regular units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine appeared around our village. Explosions of artillery and hail were constantly heard, the family said.

Later it turned out that they left just in time. After all, a few days later their village was also under the control of the Russians. They learned about this from a neighbor who also managed to escape from there.

This is what the house looks like after the occupation by the Russian army/Photos provided by Channel 24 website:

The village was under occupation for about three weeks. The family was informed about the liberation of the settlement by one of the neighbors, to whom they left the keys to the house so that he could look after him.

But the house was unrecognizable. The occupiers broke windows, doors, left an incredible mess and even drove around the yard in an armored personnel carrier, which is clearly evidenced by footprints on the grass. The Russians were cooking in the fireplace, lost their dry rations and stole a bunch of things. They simply dismantled the computer and stole some of the parts from there.

Orcs lived in our house. Seven of the twelve windows were broken. In the glass door to the terrace, the glass was broken and the lock was turned out. Broken kitchen furniture. Dirt around. Computer parts stolen, monitor damaged. All men's shoes and musical instruments were stolen. Fence heavily damaged. They drove over it in an armored personnel carrier. In addition, a shell exploded in front of the house, which tore off the automatic gate and gate, and destroyed brick pillars. The façade and roof were damaged by debris, family members noted.

Now a neighbor is looking after the house. So far, Ukrainians cannot apply for compensation for damaged property, because they are abroad.

As far as I know, the presence of the owner on the spot is required to process compensation. Based on this, I have no way to apply for compensation, the family concluded.
