The Russian invaders dropped high-explosive bombs on Ukraine, in particular with the help of Su-34s. By doing this, the invaders lost the plane, so such a flight for them is a kind of “one-way ticket.”
A military expert, retired colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, pilot-instructor Roman Svitan told Channel 24 about this. According to him, in order to drop a bomb, the Russians have to climb to a great height, and they immediately fall under the blow of our air defense system.
The occupiers dropped a bomb – lost the plane
Svitan noted that the occupiers lost the Su-34 near Yenakiyev, which was solving the issue of dropping the bomb, because it is 30 kilometers from there to Avdiivka. The enemy aircraft was shot down by our defenders from the Nikopol anti-aircraft missile regiment.
He explained that the plane would have to fly to over 10 kilometers, accelerate to near supersonic speeds, and drop the bomb to keep it flying longer. After all, this is a free-falling and planning bomb. The maximum deviation is up to 50 kilometers, but it must already be the wind, and not the plane, to disperse and reset it.
Therefore, according to the instructor pilot, there is nothing wrong with these bombs. It became much more problematic for the Russians to do this after we destroyed their aircraft. In addition, the bomb can be shot down in the fall mode, but we do not have enough planes for this.
They already worked with these bombs a year ago, but they refused because they lost the plane when dropping one bomb,” Svitan said.
Now, he noted, the invaders tried again. And after they lose a few more planes, they will put these bombs back in their warehouse, because the Russians do not have so many of them.

For Russians, this is a one-way ticket.
The colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the reserve explained that at an altitude of more than 50 meters, the radar beam of any system of the anti-aircraft missile system sees an enemy aircraft. If you fly below 50 meters, then the locator does not see and then only MANPADS can shoot it down, that is, relatively speaking, the military from the Stinger or Igla.
Therefore, the Russians come out at an extremely low altitude – about 30 meters, shoot back 5 kilometers to the front line, so as not to fall under our MANPADS, – said Svitan.
To drop a bomb, he added, the Russians have to climb to a great height, after which they immediately fall under the blow of our air defense system. Therefore, for the occupiers, this is a “one-way ticket” – lucky or unlucky.
More about the downing of the Russian Su-34
- On March 3, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a Russian Su-34 aircraft near the temporarily occupied Yenakiyevo in the Donetsk region. This is a rather expensive aircraft, which the occupiers use on the line of collision during assaults.
- As a result, one occupier was killed and another one was injured. The fighters of the Nikopol anti-aircraft missile regiment demilitarized the senior inspector-pilot Major Alexander Bondarev. As you know, it was he who carried out the bombing of Kharkov and the region.
- The Russians showed a plane smashed to smithereens, the remains of which literally scattered in different directions. At the same time, the occupiers traditionally shouted that there were no casualties. Allegedly, the pilots ejected and landed in the Shakhtyorsk region.
