The Kremlin command not only developed an effective system for recruiting men into its troops, but also created almost ideal schemes for their shareware use and disposal. For more than a year of a full-scale war in Ukraine, thousands of occupiers recruited into the army by deceit have died.
Those who have not yet turned into fertilizer in the Ukrainian steppes, according to Channel 24 sources in the Ukrainian special services , for the most part receive neither salaries nor any compensation for participating in hostilities. We are talking about the so-called reservists of the BARS system (Combat Army Reserve of the Country), a project of the mobilization human reserve of the Russian Defense Ministry, which was created back in 2015.
Even then, Putin's leadership was preparing for the full-scale use of troops abroad and the possible involvement of so-called “volunteers” in this.
For six months they did not receive a penny, but they did not complain
The whole essence of the “BARS” system in Russia was that every former serviceman could sign a contract “convenient” for a person with the state. That is, a man who has at least military service experience joins the military reserve of his own free will, receives a monthly salary from the country, but at the same time lives with his family and works in a civilian job.
It is clear that thousands of Russians, who simply wanted to improve their financial situation, were happy to enter into such a contract and were led by the commanders' story about the “state care” for them. However, obviously, Putin and his henchmen did not hand out any “free” money to the plebs.
In the fall of 2022, when the regular Russian army began to run out and finally got stuck on the Ukrainian fronts, and the bunker Fuhrer announced a partial mobilization, state punishers came for everyone who had been paid for years for nothing.
As the Kremlin first said, all reservists should be included in the so-called regional battalions. They were promised to be given the status of mobilized, who seem to be equated with contract soldiers. In addition, almost all LARS terrorists were promised exclusively peaceful positions such as loaders and drivers. Like, for 2 – 3 months of stay in Ukraine, you can get a lot of money by Russian standards, after which you can return home to your families healthy. It is not surprising that reservists went to war in good spirits and in anticipation of a solution to their financial problems.
However, in reality, the situation turned out to be completely different from what the invaders had been promised. Putin's punishers were almost immediately thrown into the war zone on the front line. Without additional training and support by artillery or armored vehicles.
Previously, the reservists were sent along with the mobilized, and they suffered their first serious losses in the Kharkiv region , where they must hold back the advance of the Ukrainian defenders. And only then the Russians from “BARS” found out to their surprise that the state had no intention of taking care of them.
As it turned out, reservists should be assigned to one or another military unit, but in fact, most commanders did not do this. Receiving salaries for them, the officers constantly told the dissatisfied “mobilized” that they were about to be legally issued. However, due to the fact that most of the BARS mercenaries were on the front line, they were not even up to complaining. They just tried to survive, could not escape from the front line due to the presence of corrals and died en masse. Some reservists did not receive a penny of payment for half a year of their service, but they did not show any disobedience. Basically – because of the total fear of the command and the absolute permission to loot. After all, they were told that all wage arrears would come later, but thanks to the “trophies” you can provide for yourself and your families for life.
Volunteers reluctantly
It is clear that among all the detachments created from reservists, there were those where salaries were actually given out more or less systematically and even in almost full volume. Nevertheless, the general attitude towards the reservists and their performance of tasks throughout the Russian army was exactly the same – as to “cannon fodder.” Of course, at the same time, there are no social guarantees that Putin told his population about for the invaders at all.
Most of the wounded “BARS” did not receive a penny from the Russian government, because legally they are listed as volunteers, which means that the state does not compensate them for anything. The same applies to the relatives of the dead occupiers, but they explain to the widows and mothers of those liquidated in Ukraine that “Russia cannot pay in this case,” but she allegedly took care of everyone in a different way – she insured the life and health of reservists in private companies.
At the same time, of course, there was not even any insurance, and any appeals from mutilated reservists or their relatives ended only with redirection to various authorities. However, since every day the number of those who have joined the BARS system is still rapidly decreasing, there will practically be no one to make claims to the Russian leadership.
