They didn't give water for 10 days: what

Dmitry “Orest” Kazatsky was laconic about his experience in Russian captivity. However, he shared something with his mother.

The mother of the defender and photographer from Azovstal, Irina Yurchenko, said that during 4 months of Russian captivity, her son lost up to 55 kilograms. But it is important that the experience did not break him.

How was the first meeting of Dmitry with his mother

The other day an emotional video appeared on the network, like ” Orest” meets his relatives for the first time after the Russian captivity. Incredibly, however, when he returned to Ukraine, Dmitry got flowers for his mother and sister. Later, Irina Yurchenko herself spoke about the first meeting with her son.

The woman said that the last few days she is in an incredibly high spirits, because her son is alive and returned home. However, due to the fact that the invaders did not allow the prisoners to communicate, at first “Orest” was unaccustomed to being laconic.

I want to say that we are very happy, but the struggle and dismissal of Ukraine continues. We hugged Dima, it was such a meeting! I was very afraid that he would change, that his events would break him, but no! Our people and our warriors are indestructible. He lost weight to 55 kilograms, during the meeting he did not speak for almost an hour, because during these four months of captivity they were not allowed to communicate. I am going through an incredible flurry of emotions and I want every mother, every family in our country to feel them. So that we wait for everyone from captivity, war – alive and whole. Yes, so that we win, – said the mother of “Orest”.

The woman also said that her son dreams of returning to photography again. He wants to live and work.

What Dmitry “Orest” told about captivity

Irina said that she and Dmitry hardly talked about his time in captivity, but he shared some memories. In general, our defenders experienced hunger, physical and moral abuse. A piece of bread had to be stretched out over one day.

He was given a piece of bread, and he divided it into three parts to eat during the day. It's just the horror of the 21st century. He said that they were not allowed to drink water for 10 days. And he says that now he appreciates every piece of bread and food in general. During the captivity, he read the Bible and said to me: “Mom, now I know what you taught us. I quietly read Our Father, prayed and talked with God,” Irina said.

Mom “Oresta “She said that now the released captives are in rehabilitation. They need to merge into ordinary life, because they got out of it for 7 months. Therefore, work with doctors and psychologists lies ahead. Relatives of those released from captivity hope that they will have the opportunity to meet with them periodically.
