The agent network of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces operated in the Kharkov region, which collected data on the movement and deployment of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and corrected enemy attacks on Kharkov. SBU cyber specialists neutralized the GRU intelligence network.
The attackers collected intelligence on the geolocation of fortified areas and the routes of movement of columns of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular by rail.
In addition, Russian agents collected incriminating evidence on military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who are located in the front-line territories of the Kharkov region. Most of all, enemy intelligence was interested in current officials of local military registration and enlistment offices and military medical commissions.

As a result of a multi-stage special operation, SBU officers documented the criminal actions of 4 participants in the Russian intelligence network and detained them at their place of residence.
The group of traitors was led by a former local resident who fled to Russia at the beginning of the war. There he was recruited by regular GRU officers and tasked with creating an agent network in Kharkov.
The group included four of his acquaintances from the city, including a taxi driver and an employee of a local gas supply company.
