As of November 2, about 950 people remain in Toretsk, in the Donetsk region. Residents still have a partial opportunity to evacuate.
The head of the Toretsk city military administration, Vasyl Chinchyk, reported this on air at Suspilne. Studio.
Evacuation from Toretsk
According to him, it is becoming more and more difficult to evacuate local residents from Toretsk every day. It is best to evacuate under certain weather conditions.
Now watching
— We have to evacuate the population under favorable climatic conditions, when it is raining and cloudy. We manage to evacuate people at night as well. The enemy is actually monitoring the sky and any movement across the territory of the community is perceived by them as offensive actions, as an attempt to seize their positions, — noted Vasily Chinchik.
Russian military is using FPV drones and artillery to try to destroy any vehicles moving through the community. Unfortunately, there have been cases where evacuation vehicles and armored vehicles used to evacuate civilians have been damaged.
According to Vasily Chinchyk, 15-20 people ask for evacuation every day. Some leave in their own vehicles, while others walk to safer places where they are picked up by authorities.
Toretsk Shelling
The city is suffering greatly from Russian shelling. The enemy is firing from all types of weapons, destroying all living things.
— Destroys and shoots residential buildings, apartment buildings, so the residents who remained in the community are forced to hide in shelters, basements, cellars and go outside as little as possible in order to survive, to survive in such a difficult time, – said Vasily Chinchik.
Russian troops are using mortars, artillery, FPV drones and UAVs to shell the city. No locals have ever returned to Toretsk from evacuation, said MVA head Vasily Chinchik.
