Iran wanted to support the aggressor country Russia in the war against Ukraine. To do this, he provides her with Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar missiles.
Today it is difficult to say exactly about their characteristics, except for the declared ones – a range of 300 to 700 kilometers, depending on the type of missile. Alexander Musiyenko, head of the Center for Military Legal Research, military expert, said this on channel 24.
According to him, Iran tried to actively use these missiles directly or through its proxy military groups. They tried to strike at Israel and other objects. At the same time, air defense coped with it.
We can say that this is a ballistic missile, therefore, in terms of its technical characteristics, it is somewhat harder to intercept than a cruise missile. However, it is impossible to intercept by air defense systems or detections. But this is more difficult to do, – said Alexander Musienko.
“Most likely, Russian technologies could have been used in the same missile in its production. That is, Iran itself did not have the ability to produce such missiles, therefore, where did they get it from. There is an assumption that these are precisely Russian ones,” the expert analyzed.
He emphasized that certain Russian technologies are used in the same “Shahed” – drones flying across Ukraine. Perhaps these missiles will be somewhat similar to the Iskanders. However, according to the expert, they will not be any better or will have a different effect.
Musienko noted that we can also shoot down Iskanders. Unfortunately, some came and fell, but these can be dealt with. It all depends on how many of them Iran will transfer and how quickly our partners will help us with closing the skies and building up our air defense capabilities.
